When it comes to arcade games, the one that most think of is the original Super Mario Bros. This game came out in the mid 80's and was part of Nintendo's best selling games. Although this game is played on a console and people sit down to play it, it is still a really fun arcade type of game. It spawned sequels and imitators with other video games.
Super Mario Bros. was a new way to play games and had rich graphics and was one of the first side scrolling video games. You can either be Mario or his brother Luigi when playing this really fun arcade game. The game takes place in Mushroom Kingdom and is a race to save the princess who was taken by King Bowser who is holding her captive. There are 8 worlds that can be played straight through or you can be warped to from different areas of the game. You must play to figure out how to do that. Mario has one attack move and that is to stomp on the Goombas, which are the mushroom traitors and the turtle soldiers. Both of these enemies can take away Mario's lives. Not all the objects in Mushroom Kingdom are designed to hurt Mario. There are objects that help him on his journey to save the princess. These include starman, which will make Mario temporarily invisible. There is a super mushroom that doubles Mario's size and a 1-up mushroom that gives him an extra life. The ever popular fire power gives Mario the power to throw fire balls at his enemies.
There are 4 levels to each world with a match with King Bowser at the end of each. You must kill Bowser in the last level of world 8 to release the princess and conquer the game. This really fun arcade game is just that. It is the ultimate fun game. While the graphics are a bit flat compared the game out today, it is a unique game in its own right. It takes a little skill and you learn new tricks and unlock secrets each time that you play.
